Patient's Anticipated Will
Law 21/2000 from 29 December, on the information rights concerning patients' health and autonomy and clinical documentation, regulates the application of the anticipated will document (DVA).
This document is used by the doctor in charge. Patients can use this document to write any health instructions they want to be considered if later on they are incapable of doing so themselves.
In addition, the patient may nominate a representative who will act as a spokesperson with the medical team if the patient is not in the proper conditions to express their will.
If you need more information about the DVA, consult your doctor or any of the Citizens' Service Units in the hospital.
